Presentation of the Conference

Societies are affected by emergencies of various kinds that stress the capability of advanced societies to grant current living standards and security to people, and sustain economic growth and environment safeguard. Moreover, both the irreversible digitalisation process of the information systems of social and economic bodies, the large amount of sparse data and the advent of AI pose new technical challenges to researchers and decision makers. To make the most effective use of the growing amount of data, both from administrative and survey sources, researchers and managers need to develop specific, in-house expertise in the statistical analysis of this information amount. 

This Conference aims to discuss how statistical techniques, jointly with data and AI, can support decision makers in their activities and be a forum in which managers and public administrators can express their knowledge needs to a wide audience of applied statisticians. 

As in its tradition, the ASA conference is, however, open to original contributions to every field of applied statistics and to any application using statistics as an analytical method, even outside the specific topic of “Statistical Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence: From Data to Aware Decisions” chosen for this specific edition.
